Professor Trojani graduated with a degree in Computer Science from the University of Pisa in 1973. He has been active in research and development of scientific software applications in the fields of computer graphics, multimedia tools, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and internet data transmission for over 20 years.

He has taught courses at the University of Calabria, Department of Ecology in Cosenza, the University of Ancona, Department of Territorial Planning, the University of Messina, Earth Science Institute, and presently is a lecturer and student advisor at the University of Florence in three departments: Computer Science, Political Science, and Architecture.

He is director of the multimedia project “Italians in the Gold Rush and Beyond” which has been co-financed by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
